Myk Murphy:
yeah, your side of the atlantic has a gift for leisure that we have yet to master.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 2:40:29 pm)

Froupie:
its funny cos its true.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 2:43:11 pm)

Froupie:
but we're not as bad as the french, who are not as bad as the spanish, who are not as bad as the italians. lazy bleeders.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 2:44:29 pm)

Froupie:
germany. you don't get many holidays there.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 2:45:14 pm)

Froupie:
national lederhosen day and king ludwigs birthday. you'll be lucky to get christmas off.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 2:45:55 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i beg to differ. the germans have it way too easy. i recall a conversation with a young lady from stuttgart (and this isn't the beginning to a filthy limerick), who was lamenting that her holiday time was dropping below 30 days. i was amazed.

Froupie:
pasta and clams for me
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:13:54 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i found a new noodle place near here that does a nice indonesian peanut sauce dish for just a few bucks. i was delighted. on another topic entirely, i've been playing with our drummer's drum set... he left it here for our practices, and it's a roland v-drum set with all sorts of simulated sets. it has a great feel that most regular drummers can enjoy. and then there's me: realism be damned, i just like to beat the hell out of it.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:19:09 pm)

Froupie:

one of these doo dahs?
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:21:31 pm)

Myk Murphy:
very similar: the kick drum, the snare, the high hat pedal, and cymbals are the same, as is the rig holding it all together. his v-drum set has those gray drum heads for not only the high hat but also the 3 toms. also, the brain is different.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:27:00 pm)

Froupie:
never played one of those.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:37:44 pm)

Froupie:
i don't think i'd liek that hi hat
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:40:07 pm)

Froupie:

listen out for this album myk, its pretty good. its not as good as the band think it is but its good
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:46:01 pm)

Myk Murphy:
the cymbals, in general, are very responsive, but it's a totally different feel. the high-hat is always a big adjustment, but as a saving grace, it's very velocity-sensitive.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:49:21 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i take it that the band is called "razorlight"?
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:50:53 pm)

Froupie:
yeps
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:51:18 pm)

Froupie:
i feel snoozy, i'm gonna take a nap until 7am, enjoy the rest of your holiday mykster
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:56:24 pm)

Myk Murphy:
i see. named after a popular scooter, i think. see them at the camden barfly on the 15th.
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 3:59:45 pm)

Myk Murphy:
oh yeah, it's later in your world. wish us luck... another practice tonight for this weekend's gig. but it's all coming together...
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 4:00:57 pm)

Froupie:
ha, one last thing, i've just noticed something rather amusing. gmail have started putting tiny little ads to the side of my email, hardly even noticeable. next to the email of my photography teacher pal there are ads for photography equipment etc, next to an email from some shitty guy theres an ad for flakefilter.com "how to get rid of people who waste your time". superb!
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 4:03:33 pm)

Froupie:
good luck myk, break a leg
(Mon Jul 5, 2004 - 4:05:04 pm)

Did Heruka leave for good? Too bad. What are you talking about Queenie?
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:31:12 am)

bela:
Oh, she posted that yesterday. Hi Froupie.
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:31:22 am)

Froupie:
hey bela, have a good holiday thingy?
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:43:44 am)

bela:
Um, yeah it was ok. Went to a HUGE loft party on the water in Brooklyn. There were literally 100 + people on this roof. I tried to break up with Joe this weekend but he got really upset and I caved. He was so sad and cute, I couldn't follow through. Grrrr.
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:50:53 am)

bela:
There must have been about 200 people on this roof.
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:52:51 am)

bela:
And it was in Greenpoint. What am I thinking.
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:53:03 am)

Froupie:
sounds like it was fun
(Tue Jul 6, 2004 - 9:53:18 am)
