EUGENE, Ore. -- Two weeks ago as the Ducks were preparing to face Wisconsin, ESPN's Lee Corso, on the sports network's popular weekend preview show College GameDay, stated that nobody knew where Eugene was located.

Now Corso and co-hosts Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler will get the chance to discover Eugene in person because College GameDay is coming to Autzen Stadium for the Oregon-UCLA game, ESPN confirmed Monday.

Fans are invited and encouraged to arrive early and be part of the live audience for the nationally-televised College GameDay broadcast that begins at 8 a.m. Pacific time Saturday. The GameDay set will be located at a yet-to-be determined site on the Autzen Stadium complex.

In conjunction with the GameDay broadcast, parking lots surrounding Autzen Stadium will open at 7 a.m. Saturday morning and pre-game festivities at the Moshofsky Center will begin at 8 a.m. Tostitos, official sponsor of College GameDay, will have an interactive display for fans set up in the Moshofsky Center that will also open at 8.

This will be GameDay's first-ever visit to the Northwest and only the show's third remote broadcast west of the Mississippi River. The show has previously gone live once from the Rose Bowl for Oregon-UCLA in 1997 and once from Lincoln, Neb.

The Tostitos stage located in the Moshofsky Center will feature entertainment from local acts and a giant screen for the showing of the GameDay broadcast. The promotion will also have contests and football-themed games and will be open throughout the afternoon.

"Enterntainment from local acts." Wow what a plug!

Yeah? Well, my sister just called me and she was all spazzy. [hobknob] She said, "My boss just called me to add someone's home phone and address into the Rolodex. It's John Cleese." They are doing a movie together with an all star cast - Whoopie, etc... By all reports, Cleese's a crotchety old man. Which what I have aspired to be all my life.
