Funny - Stange Brew is listed as a "Crime/SciFi" genre film in Google. Myk's not the only one that hasn't paid attention while the VHS was running. But then again, the NYT (wrong as usual) : " A movie that's barely there. The McKenzies are genial enough, and once in a while they're vaguely funny. But their film is so ephemeral that you may hardly be aware of watching it, even while it's going on."

Strange Brew is the quintessential underrated movie. It’s brillisntly silly and amazingly well crafted. And it’s got Max Von Sydow and a Paul Dooley in it.

Full disclosure. During J-Term 1985 every afternoon my friends and I would go bowling because it was $1 a game during the afternoon. Then we’d buy a suitcase of PBR’s WAY BEFORE THE HIPSTERS MADE IT POPULAR. And we’d watch Strange Brew. Every day for a month. We never got bored. It’s an awesome movie.
