Sleepy -- yes. Tipitina's, 1990 (so long ago!). It was horribly hot, but I refused to budge from front row, stage right. By the end of the night, I'd lost my voice from screaming (girls are allowed to scream). Maybe it's the tiniest bit pathetic that I consider that night one of the best nights of my life, but I think anyone who's seen him would understand.

Well, I just want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome. Hey, Voltaic, I have a pair of Polk audio's , too. Yes, they do have a sweet sound. I like listening to Robyn with headphones on. I just close my eyes and drift away. On a side note, I got the tab for 'If you were a Priest' a few days ago. It is supposed to be played with a G#addD. Well, the author didn't know how to do it and neither do I. I think that just a G# works fine. If anyone happens by with more skilled fingers than myself, a tip would be greatly appreciated. Guess that's it for today...PEACE!

Here in the backwoods, almost no one even knows who RH is, much less knows the man himself. robyn - I believe that I saw you in late 1992 (or was it early 1993) at the cineplex odean theatre in shirlington (arlington, virginia), when you were still living in wash, D.C. my wife and I were getting popcorn and ready to sit down and watch "the crying game" and I noticed you standing over by the wall. I did a double take, and said to my wife, "that's robyn hitchc--k!" she told me I was crazy, but I kept stealing glances over at you and knew it was you. after we sat down in the theatre, I kept saying, "I know that was robyn hitchc--k," so my wife said, "well, go out and find out for yourself - ask him!" gathering my courage, I walked back out to the concession area, but alas, you were gone. I looked for you after the movie ended, but did not see you. robyn, was it really you?? by the way - I absolutely love "moss elixir." I just wish I could get my hands on "mossy liquor" too.

RE: PSYCHICS FROM PLUTO & JULY 7 LONDON GIG IT MUST HAVE BEEN GREAT, ROBYN & KIMBERLY, BUT ABOUT THE COMMENT THAT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME "I OFTEN DREAM OF TRAINS" HAD BEEN PERFOMED WITH ANOTHER HUMAN---WELL,NO. HE AND TIM PLAYED IT EARLIER IN THE YEAR AT THE ROXY IN LOS ANGELES (AND POSSIBLLY OTHER SHOWS, TOO). THE REAL THING WAS THE AFTER SHOW CLUB GIG (AFTER THE ROXY SHOW) AT THE LARGO WHERE HE PERFORMED WITH MORRIS T., TIM, BUFFALO TOM, ETC. AND THEY COVERED THE BEATLES (DAY IN THE LIFE, WITHIN YOU WITHOUT YOU,(MORE)),THE VELVETS(ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES),PINK FLOYD (CIRRUS MINOR), AND OTHERS THAT MY HAZY MEMORY IS HAVING TROUBLE FOCUSING ON AT THE MOMENT. THE SET WAS ABOUT 2 1/2 HOURS, EVEN LONGER THAN THE ADVERTISED SHOW THAT HE HAD JUST DONE AT THE ROXY-- --THE COOLEST OF ANY HITCHc--k SHOWS THAT I'VE EVER ATTENDED. THANKS ROBYN!

Pungo,so good to hear from you. I am glad you are silly. By the way, this is a true story: when someone asks me at work how I am doing, I often tell them the truth, that I am "Grooving on An Inner Plane..." The term really applies to that mood where you aren't manically happy, nor down and own. You simply are, uh, grooving, on an inner plane, see? Anybody else have RH songs that illustrate or describe their moods?

Antwoman has notified us that Robyn has hired a boat for a date in the near future. he will perform on the vessel whilst it makes it way 'round what is most probably some quite english looking-smelling-tasting waters (plenty of cold squishy things wriggling beneath the surface, to look at through glass, er, bottoms....tho this last is sadly not included in the ship he will captain :( -- Anty asked us to pass along the notice, since she's having trouble with that infernal email babel machine lo these many nights.......

FROM: Henny Gotta Out <Henny@Young.Com>

Those concept video's on the Gotta Let this Hen Out video are what "Fegmania" the album refers to in conjunction with Tony Moon--they are actually short films, 16 mm by the looks of them. There is also a hilarious outside scene of Robyn doing some kind of "ritual" with two vegetables in front of the welfare office (or england's equivelant) while an elderly woman walks by, stops, and gazes up at this strange man with the squash. She look up at him, then ahead, then glances in the general direction of the camera, and walks on, seamingly baffled. If I'd been up on that ledge doing what Robyn is doing and had gotten that response, I would not have been able to keep from laughing. It's very funny.

Pungo, there is a pretty good video called "Gotta Let This Hen Out." It's over ten years old now, a live recording of the Egyptians at the Marquee in London. There are included videos for "Man with the Lightbulb Head," "I Often Dream of Trains," etc. They are admittedly primitive, production-wise, but are charming and funny. The live stuff is very good though Robyn was not in the most talkative mood, so no wonderful storytelling like we've all grown to love. Antwoman may be the best source for finding out if the video is still sold. I have it and I have cherished it since mail ordering it about 7 years ago. The video packaging matches that of the original lp and cd of the same name.

Pungo: that's a great question. I've never seen one, though in all honesty, I've never looked for a Robyn video. If someone out there has indeed heard of such a thing, please respond! He said, "No deeper than tomorrow's ocean" I saw Nick Drake And he was fine And we're in bloom Yes we're in bloom I saw Nick Drake As we were carrying the ice together I saw his face Beneath the glass The net was gone And all his strawberries of English weather (?) I saw Nick Drake I saw him pass And we're in bloom Yeah we're in bloom I saw Nick Drake The habits of a lifetime Will lay you low Into your grave And when you're gone You take the whole world with you I saw Nick Drake I saw him wave © Robyn Hitchc--k lyrics reproduced without permission For more info on Nick Drake...check out: http://www.algonet.se/~iguana/DRAKE/DRAKE.html
